5 Things I Want to Help Retirees With…
I started this blog to help retirees like myself find joy and fulfillment in their retirement years. At times, people retire without giving much thought to what they will do. As a result, they flounder with finding purpose in their later years. I want to offer researched and lived-out experiences that can make the retirement years their best!
1. Discover how you can live “Close to FULL” in the last years of your life.
Learn how to develop a meaningful, fulfilled, and purposeful life through spiritual practices, church attendance, community service, and missions. Ultimately, fulfillment in this life comes when we look beyond ourselves and develop our relationship with God. We are made for worship. Therefore, we will find true fulfillment when we worship God here on earth and live out his purpose for our life. Since our time here on earth matters, during retirement, we have one last opportunity to engage in the full spiritual worship of God by giving to others in service and missions. We will look at how we can come as “Close to Full” in this life. Then, we will have the ultimate heavenly reward where we will hear our Saviour say, “Well Done, good and faithful servant!” Matthew 25:21
2. Research-based strategies for navigating a FULL retirement.
We must make many decisions in retirement. Decisions such as what healthcare options are available before Medicare and how to decide what Medicare option is best for each of us. Therefore we need to ask, what are some healthy lifestyle choices I can make in the next few years to keep me healthy through retirement? How do I know if my money can stretch far enough into retirement? How much income can you legally earn while on Social Security? Best practices for keeping healthy relationships, making new friends, and keeping social interactions healthy and fulfilling. Best websites to book vacations, best travel ideas, and places to avoid. I have a passion for research and love sharing the information I have found on these and many more topics.
3. Practical ideas on living a FULL life in retirement.
Research helps you know what things to consider, but when you are actually living your life you discover what actually works and what doesn’t. Therefore, let my husband and me help you so that you do not make the same mistakes we did as we were closing in on living our best life. We are finding, a full life comes when you can learn from other people’s mistakes and successes. We will show you practical ways to save time and money, as well as get and stay organized. Also, let us help you make the most of your time with children, grandchildren, and other relatives. We will also offer practical ways to get involved in your community. In other words, how to go about making and building friendships in retirement.
4. Answering questions retirees have about how to find FULL-fillment in retirement.
Each of us has a unique retirement-life journey, but most situations have been encountered along the way. I want to help you navigate your circumstance through research and connections with others. Researching and finding creative solutions to unique obstacles is what brings me fulfillment. If you could get help with your retirement stresses, would you want to get that help? What are your questions about how to live to the full in retirement? Let me help you find the solution.
5. Building a community of retirees who want to live a FULL-filled life.
Within this community of retirees, I would like to see retirees from all walks of life be able to come together to interact and share ideas and experiences. I want to create a place where retirees or those within a few years of retiring can connect and discover help with day-to-day retirement life. Above all, I want to see a group of retirees join and find a life that is as “Close to FULL” as they can get here on this earth.
Conclusion
In the year leading up to retirement, I began asking myself if I would be satisfied with my retirement years being a mundane day-to-day existence. I realized the beginning of retirement marked the beginning of the last years of my life. If my life was to matter, I needed to make every day of retirement count. As I begin this journey of discovery, I would like to engage you in that journey as well. Would you like to join me in discovering how you can live your life as “Close to Full” as possible here on this earth?
